چکیده

Abstract. A heuristic technique is developed for the estimation of auto-spectra and cross-spectra of multivariate nonstationary random processes which are used as models of earthquake accelerograms. The spectra are estimated by considering the statistical moments of the energy of linear systems (filters) excited by the stochastic seismic processes. The usefulness of the proposed technique is demonstrated by examples. Sommario. Si propone una tecnica euristica per la determinazione degli spettri di processi aleatori non-stazionari

Estimation of Count Data using Bivariate Negative Binomial Regression Models

Abstract Negative binomial regression model (NBR) is a popular approach for modeling overdispersed count data with covariates. Several parameterizations have been performed for NBR, and the two well-known models, negative binomial-1 regression model (NBR-1) and negative binomial-2 regression model (NBR-2), have been applied. Another parameterization of NBR is negative binomial-P regression mode...

On Concomitants of Order Statistics from Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern Bivariate Lomax Distribution and its Application in Estimation

‎In this paper‎, ‎we have dealt with the distribution theory of concomitants of order statistics arising from Farlie-Gumbel-Morgenstern bivariate Lomax distribution‎. ‎We have discussed the estimation of the parameters associated with the distribution of the variable Y of primary interest‎, ‎based on the ranked set sample defined by ordering the marginal observations...

Asymptotic Efficiencies of the MLE Based on Bivariate Record Values from Bivariate Normal Distribution

Abstract. Maximum likelihood (ML) estimation based on bivariate record data is considered as the general inference problem. Assume that the process of observing k records is repeated m times, independently. The asymptotic properties including consistency and asymptotic normality of the Maximum Likelihood (ML) estimates of parameters of the underlying distribution is then established, when m is ...

Time-varying spectral analysis in neurophysiological time series using Hilbert wavelet pairs

An analytic wavelet transform, based on Hilbert wavelet pairs, is applied to bivariate time-varying spectral estimation for neurophysiological time series. Under the assumption of an underlying block stationary process, both single-trial and ensemble studies are amenable to this method. A bootstrap procedure, which samples with replacement blocks centered around the events of interest, is propo...

Correlation and spectral analysis of two hydrogeological systems in Central Italy

Abstract Univariate and bivariate spectral analyses were applied to the study of two karstic systems in the Central Apennines (Italy). The analyses allowed the characterization of the transformations between the input rainfall and the output discharge. Although the development of the karstification is very different, the two aquifers show very similar behaviour. Both systems present very high m...
